this subtle?
its not because i am
a woman
its because
i am sensitive
overly so
to the changes that
cause invisible ripples
in eyes
in hearts
in postures
in words
in thoughts
in feelings
in a hundred other ways
the world has something
always to say
i am here
hearing it all
in a way
whatever this human body
offers to teach me
i intend to learn
i believe in everything
i accept things as they are
change is inevitable i know
but change i do not force on things
not even upon myself
i wish to be
as natural as
the earth’s soil
or the salt of the ocean
in vastness i believe
like an albatross
watching the sky lying ahead of it
as it flies to explore
the unending realm
how elongated the journeys seem
sometimes its eye-opening
sometimes disappointing
yet it always has something to say
about either the scheme of things
or the person himself
i journey inside my mind
places i go
sailing on words
i end up in the darkest places
and the most beautiful things i feel
that is what maketh me
my fantasies keep me
together in form
it gives me what i have
everything
even the glow in my eyes
and my smile
comes from this magical place
inside.
