I Need to Be

Need to be a poet today

Need to share my thoughts

There is a rushing of the storms in my heart

And the words are fighting innumerable wars

On the battlefields of my conscience

There is a restless heart

Beating fast

So fast that even the drums might seem feeble

And the banging is against a chest 

So full and heavy with feelings

I wish to share

But beware

There is a flood that is waiting to begin.
